Sir,
I enclose you a Certificate from Captain John Heath dated Natchez July 4 1798 setting forth that sundry articles of Clothing were due to Allen Simmons Late a Soldier in his Company and request that you would make a report to me in Writing of the monies he ought to receive for the same agreeably to the Contract prices of the several articles due to him, in order that a Warrant may issue for the amount.
All claims of a similar nature that may be presented to you it will be proper that you should report on in like manner. ——
