Philada 28th Sept 1798.
Sir
Enclosed you have my receipt for the last warrant. By this post I send a receipt to the Treasury for the same amount received by Check on the Bank — Please to inform Mr James I have received his letter — I have as yet heard nothing from Mr Drange, but I fear the report he mentions will prove too true — I sent a Special Messenger yesterday to ascertain what has become of him, he is not returned, but I expect him every moment. Mr Fenno's foreman died this morning Mr Paxton's son is next in the Office and expects to be next taken — His father is with him and fully employed — No abatement yet discoverable
God bless you adieu
