Sir Philada Sept 27th 1798
I have received your letter of the 26 Ins. As many of the Pattern articles of Cloathing as I can collect. Shall go forward immediately agreeable to your wishes as expressed in yours of the 25. The enclosed Shews the articles that can be forwarded as parts of [strikethrough: those] order to the southward. The hose, Shirts, and Woolen Overalls for Privates will be totally deficient, yet if I hear nothing to the contrary I shall send what we have and depend on a future opportunity to send the articles to complete the suits — It will be recollected that a small portion of Cloathing has been forwarded for the south Regiment the orders now on hand will leave the Store bare indeed — Mrs Caldwell letter is delivered. She seems much agitated and desires to leave the City —
