McKean] [Rec. 16^th Oct. 1798] Sir Knoxville: 25 September 1798 I have drawn on you this Day in favor of Joseph McLean two Bills payable to him or order after ten days sight; one of which is for one thousand five hundred dollars; the other for nine hundred fourteen dollars and thirty three Cents, to be used in the payment of the Army; which Sums I have passed to the Credit of the Treasurer and request you will honor both those Bills, which were drawn for two Sums to accommodate his remittances — I am very Respectfully Your Hum.
