Sir By order of the Secretary of War I send to your address the Clothing inserted in the inclosed invoice — they ought to have been forwarded sometime ago but transportation could not sooner be procured, I will thank you to acknowledge the receipt of the articles and inform me the time and order in which they arrived — I am Sir Capt. As soon as possible after the receipt of this Letter furnish you to send to Staunton in Virginia to the address of Captain Alexander Gibson One Drum Complete, One Horsemans Tent, seven Common Tents, seven Axes and seven Camp kettles, let the Poles go with the Tents — If any of the articles should not be on hand, or being on hand are unsuitable you will please to furnish such deficiency, and charge the amount in your disbursement account and it shall be paid.
