R.P.O. 401810.] Pittsburg 21^st September 1798 Dear Sir The receipt of your letter of the 12^th & 14^th Inst. by Post this day has afforded me particular pleasure as I am thereby informed that you & Family still enjoy Health notwithstanding you continue in the midst of the most imminent danger — I have acquainted Gen^t Nevill with the purport of your letter of the 12^th respecting the Costs in his hands, and am informed by him that he has instructions from the Secretary of the Treasury exactly corresponding thereto — Therefore I shall in future draw in his favor only untill the Amount in his hands is expended — By last Post I transmitted you a Copy of Part of a requisition made by Gen^t Wilkinson, but upon further Investigation I find that Sheet Iron for 200 Camp kettles is immediately wanted, and I also find that Window Glass can be procured on good terms here, and that Carpenters & Joiners Planes are to be got, As also Smiths Bellows on reasonable terms made here — Anvills can be bought at 1/7 p^r lb & Vices at 1/10 p^r lb — The Articles addressed to Col^o Sergeant and Gen^l Wilkinson Shall be taken particular care of on their Arrival and sent forward by confidential Hands — I am Dear Sir your obedient Servant Isaac Craig Sam^l Hodgdon Esq Philad^a
