The 3000 Gun Stocks for Springfield were forwarded yesterday via New York. I will send you an accurate account of the number remaining in Store shortly. I am also making out an account of clothing on hand, which I shall enclose you tomorrow. The whole of the arms and accoutrements ordered for the State of Maryland are delivered, and I have Col^o John Stricker's receipt for them. The Captain undertakes to reship them himself for Hartford, but I have given him instructions to consult you in case an immediate opportunity does not present for getting them forward. I will thank you to interest yourself to prevent any delay, as it is of importance to get the Stocks to their destination as early as possible. The Books and Stationery for your Post will be forwarded as soon as they can be procured, every thing here lies dormant at present on account of the Sickness but I hope it will subside ere long & permit our inhabitants to return.
