Fort Harmar, September 4, 1788. Sir I had the Honor of addressing you on the 23. July. Therein I informed you that the Dispatches for the inhabitants of Kentucky were transmitted by Mr. Andrew Hare, who went from hence on the 17^th of the same month, since which I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 9^th July, enclosing me a duplicate of said dispatches. The Honorable Mr. Brown Member of Congress informed me that the original was safely delivered, by Mr. Hare, and in due season. Mr. Brown left this Session on the first instant. By him the Dispatches are forwarded. But few Indians have as yet [undecipherable: probable reading: come] in. We are waiting with great impatience for the arrival of Brant and the Chiefs of several Nations, in order that the General Treaty may commence. I have the Honor to be Sir Your most Obt. Hble. Servt.
