Sir,
As I have not been Included in the pay Rolls of this Garrison by the pay master since my appointment in the 2d Regiment of Art. & Eng. for the Months of June, July, & Aug. [I] would request it as a favour to as you to Inform me what means I shall be able to obtain [undecipherable] for those months, as I am in great want of money [undecipherable] the [undecipherable] tioning that I have acted temporally as Surgeon to this Garrison [undecipherable] my appointment, but whether I am Intitled to any compensation, you are the best Judge. [undecipherable] been obligd to pay Mr Holiday 12 Dollars, for his attendance on the Hospital of this place, in my absence altho' I obtained a furlough from S. Rochefontain for three weeks, which in Justice I think I ought not to pay; I send you his acct. and will thank you to consider that matter.
