September 2^nd 1798 Sir, Major Burnam and myself have just completed a Statement of my account with the United States amounting to Twenty five Thousand two hundred and ninety dollars and forty nine cents— You will receive herewith enclosed his receipt for vouchers amounting to Seventeen Thousand two hundred and fifty six dollars &Twenty Six cents which will be by him forwarded to you— The balance of Seven Thousand five hundred and thirty Three dollars &Twenty three cents remains in my hands for the pay of the Garrison of Fort Wilkinson up to the 30^th of June and for the pay of the discharged and inlisted Soldiers— These vouchers shall be forwarded to you as soon as possible after the payments are made— I shall leave this place for Fort Wilkinson in Two or Three days and from thence forward you Estimates for the pay of all the Troops in Georgia from 1^st may last to the 31^st of December next.
