Mich: Harrison date — 1 Sept. 1798 Rec. — 24 & [undecipherable] 1798 and — 28 & — "] Fort Johnson — N Carolina 1^st Sept. 1798 — Sir I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letters of the 26^th & 30^th July last with the enclosures and also the receipt of the pay for this garrison for the months of May & June last, from the Supervisor. Enclosed you will receive the Muster and Pay Rolls for the months of July and August last, and my Account Current N° 9 with the several vouchers leaving a balance in my hands of Dollars 123 ⁴⁰/100 which I hope you will find right. Voucher N°s 3 & 4 in the Account Current are for expences incurred in apprehending &c a deserter. There was a balance of 15 [undecipherable] due in my hands for pay due him on the Jan.^y Feb.^y March and April Pay Rolls when he deserted — this sum I charged myself with in Account Current N° 8. and which I have now appropriated for apprehending him.
