West Point Accountants Office Trenton August 22 1792 Sir I have received your letter of the 7 Inst. enclosing the pay & muster Rolls &ca of a Detachment of the 1^st Reg^t of a [undecipherable] stationed at West Point for the month of July 1792 which have been examined and differs from your statement three Dollars + [undecipherable], being the amount of clothing charged by Smith & Patterson which is inadmissible. You will therefore receive from Nicholas Fish Esq^r Supervisor New York the sum of seven hundred & forty seven & [undecipherable] being for the pay & forages of the commissioned Officers, & the pay of the non commissioned Officers & Privates for the above periods including the pay of two discharged men & retained bounty due to six Recruits for which sum you will be pleased to sign duplicate receipts holding yourself accountable for the due application thereof— Sam^l W.
