[Abstract from Governor [undecipherable] file the 20 Aug 1790 to [undecipherable] [undecipherable]] [Copy of Colonels Sargents letter Dated 20 Aug^t 1790 No 20 [undecipherable] [undecipherable] —] Mississipi Territory b[y?] August 20 1790 Accept my good Friend from this extreme of our Govern- ment his more ardent wishes for the health and happiness of yourself and your worthy Wife — I pray God you may know not [undecipherable] — I trust my long letter relative to our present Governor may have come to your hands — buy for me eleven officers Military Warrants equal to 1100 acres that in all or any event I may meet his notorious demand upon me — I wrote you for two Quarter casks of good Wine I hope you have sent them — if not I think it would be adviseable to ship them to Orleans and add two more Quar- ter Casks of common red or white I dont care which — a barrell of Loaf Sugar and Coffee together — some [undecipherable] also with a little excellent Brandy and any other great things you please to be insured and sent to the House of Key & Cochran — also a gross or two [undecipherable] Porter — then hole to be insured — I think you had not consult Co about the Porter — These Things are material to me before Winter for without him I must absolutely suffer — Pray dont omit therefore to afford them immediate attention — for the enclosed letter to my sister — requires your attention and that it may go on as soon as possible via a private hand — If no Vessel should be coming round from Philadelphia you will certainly find one at New York — Write me my friend I beseech you — I require by this conveyance from friend the Secretary to send me some Paper — if he does not you must — I have asked also permission to visit early next Summer the Atlantic States if this Country should be in Peace and I should have organized properly the Government — friend my request on [undecipherable] your usual friendly zeal and I am sure I shall succeed — My health requires it for indeed I have been and am still sick, and I have also as you know private concerns to call me amongst you — I shall not however follow [underline: example] to quit the Country without leave — adieu and beleive me always your friend W S—
