I have received your letter dated 11 Inst enclosing a bundle of vouchers which shall be examined & the result communicated — All advances when Officers have unsettled accounts are made through the Secretary of War, if you are necessitated to him it will be proper to make application: but I would recommend a settlement & finally balancing your accounts before that is done, as you may be refused & that would be disagreeable
