The Brig Hannah Captain Gildea carries to your address and Lieut John Fergus's the packages invoiced in the enclosed Bill of lading — Since signing the Bill it is found more convenient to the Ship Owners to have the freight paid in Wilmington — this I must request you to attend to, and for your government it is proper to inform you that the same freight that is paid to Captain Pennant to South Carolina from hence is to be allowed Captain Gildea — As Farmers Bills paid by me are put in one Gross Sum, I cannot accurately ascertain the price charged on each Article but I believe five Dollars is allowed for a Hogshead and fifteen Cents a foot for measured Goods, all other articles in proportion. If you find more is or ought to be allowed pay it, and for so doing this Shall be your warrant. — Excuse the trouble I give you. The Clothing and Arms were put on board the Sloop Sally, Edmund Potter Master to your address, and a letter was written requesting the favour of you to receive and forward them to their destination, but the Captain went off without signing his Receipt or taking the letter. No other way presented for getting them forwarded without detention, this will be a sufficient apology for troubling you. The expence I will pay at your request.
