Philadelphia 13^th August 1792 Sir, By a letter received from the acting Quarter Master of your Garrison, I am informed that some inaccuracies are discovered in the Return forwarded by the former Quarter Master M^cClellen, which renders it difficult for him to make out the one he has intended to send to me. Agreeably to his request I enclose copies of the several Returns received and as they stand in my books. I shall be glad to receive his, as soon as it can be prepared, that I may know the true state of the Garrison, as it respects its stores. M^r Rutter has finished one of them under the direction of M^r Bleakley, but the other he has no device for. & M^r Bleakley is out of town. Until I am informed on this subject, nothing further can be done. Who is to pay M^r Rutter for the Painting, he already calls for money in advance.
