Permit me to observe with regard to my Contingent Acc[oun]t that the Sum of thirty two dollars charged for transpo[rtation] of baggage-hire of Quarters at Fort Erie in [undecipherable] — (as the Vouchers will Shew) can not have any thing to do with a bill past a year after wards in favor of the Officers comanding Posts. Even if it had — I was disappointed in the object of my Journey which was the comand of Mackinac — I beg therefore you would take the business in consideration as I Shall on the other hand relinquish the claims posterio[r] to the above mentione[d] mentioned date — I hope you will make the less difficulty when I assure you on my honor that these frequent removals have involved me of Some hundreds of Dollars. — I inclose the Pay & Muster Rolls for [undecipherable] 9[undecipherable] — Serjeant Brown of Captain Bru[undecipherable]'s company whose time expired on the fourth Instant will perhaps present himself at your Office — being much in debt & wishing not to pay them he Set off without certificate or discharge, after receiving the total Amount of what was due him as the receipt Rolls will Shew — I am Much obliged to you for the information respecting M^r Donell — I had released him already for want of Evidence — the really proves to be a Free Man With great respect I have the honor to be Sir Your Most Obedient & Very Humble Servant, J.
