I believe you received the six hundred and forty Boxes of Gun Powder purchased by the Secretary of the Treasury of Mr Delapelde in New York — If I am right in this conjecture I wish you would forward a receipt for it — particularly specifying the quantity and kinds, and that it had stood the usual proof, this is necessary to close the Books in the Treasury for the purchase — I shall also be obliged, by your informing me where the whole is stored at present, and under whose immediate direction it now remains — An order has been sent on for three hundred Barrels of Cannon Powder to be sent here, is it complied with or how stands the business —
