Philadelphia 31 July 1793. Sir, On board the Schooner Fanny Bridger Capt. Robert Dunn who sails for York this Evening or to morrow morning I have shipped to your address Clothing Arms & Accoutrements for fifty Men. I give you this information that you may know when they may probably get to hand — I am Sir Your most Obed^t Servant Samuel Hodgdon [Capt. Jno Henry New York] Philadelphia 2^nd August 1793 Sir In compliance with your request I enclose a list of documents which I suppose necessary to establish the Claim of Maryland against the United States. I think it will be best to order the Thousand Muskets, & Cartouch Boxes from Shepherds Town to Baltimore. I am Sir respectfully Your most Ob^t Servant Samuel Hodgdon [James M^cHenry Esq^r Secretary of War] Vouchers considered as essential to establish the Claim of Maryland against the United States for Arms &c lost on the Campaign against the Insurgents in the fall of 1794. 1^st The Order for the delivery of the Articles. 2^nd The receipts or acknowledgments of the Persons who received them. 3^rd An Account of the Articles returned with the names of the Persons from whom they were received. 4^th A Statement exhibiting the names of the Persons who received and have not accounted for the whole or any portion of the Stores delivered them. 5^th A Certificate shewing that no part or portion of the Stores have been reused by the State, since the Statement of the Account produced. 6^th An Account of the measures taken by the State to recover any of the missing Articles — Philadelphia 2^d August 1798. Sir To enable me to Pay ten Accepted Bills in the Quarter Masters Department, I request a Warrant for four thousand and twenty six dollars, to be charged as usual to the Quarter Master General — I have information of drafts coming forward by order of the Commander in Chief for ten thousand dollars, they will be noticed as they appear — I am Sir Your Most Obed^t Servant Samuel Hodgdon [James M^cHenry Secretary of War]
