Sir,
I have to acknowledge the receipt of your two letters dated respectively the 10th and 12th instant, advising me that the Treasurer would remit the sum of four thousand five hundred dollars, for the purpose of paying the discharged Men.
I have received the said sum from the Treasurer and shall pay it to Ensign Hugh McCall, Pay Master (who is now here) taking his receipts.
I am glad to find that you have received the deficient vouchers from Mr McCall, which will enable you to enter upon an examination of his account, and am, very respectfully, Sir, Your obedient Servant
