Philadelphia 21^st July 1798 Sir By order of the Secretary of War I send to your address the Articles inserted in the enclosed Invoice & Bill of lading. I hope the other supplies ordered to your Post from Providence in Rhode Island and Springfield in Massachusetts will be with you as soon as these, if so you will be able in case of necessity to look your Enemy in the face. I shall wish you to keep me informed of the state of the Post, and of what may be farther wanted to compleat it.
