Sir,
I have received your favour of the 18th instant — You drafts shall be duly honored — I will inform Harris what you say relative to the Trunks — I am sorry you are about to part with Mr Bates it will be a serious loss to you, now that he is acquainted with your business generally — I will do my endeavours to procure a Clerk for you in this place, but I will not undertake to fill it, though I should in finding one — I think highly of Mr Bates — I will procure and send forward his stores, with some for the Quarter Master that are requested — Hamilton's receipt shall pass to your credit on settlement of his account — Hulings receipt for the three trunks is received — Enclosed you have three receipts for advances made to the Carpenters, and the News Papers as usual —
