[Endorsement: Hodgdon / July 1790] Samuel Hodgdon Esq^r Philad^a: July 19^th. 1790 Sir, In conversation with two Northern Gentlemen yesterday, I ascertained that there are two or three 32 pounders at Portland, but not any Shot for them. Would it not be proper to Send by this Vessel which is going immediately there, a supply of that viz^t Shot, together with Ladles - worms. Rammers Sponge - Linstocks - Slow match - Cartridge Paper and Powder & such other articles as well as necessary, for the use of the 32 pounders & the 24 pounders Sent from Rhode Island? - Capt.
