Sir, Custom House, Savannah, July 7, 1798. I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated the 29.^th ultimo, inclosing an invoice [strikethrough: and] bill of lading for a further supply of muskets and ammunition by the Schooner John, Eleazer Waterman, master, all of which were delivered in good order and stored with those received some time since by the Sloop Robert. Captain Waterman not being a constant Trader between this and Philadelphia mentioned, that it would be extremely inconvenient to him to receive his freight at the latter place. I have, therefore, ventured to pay him the amount here, being ninety two dollars and seventy five cents, which I trust the Public will not experience any inconvenience; but should [strikethrough: that] any arise, I hold myself responsible for it, and am, Sir, Your most obedient hum^t John Habersham.
