I received your letters of the 26 June and 7. of July. the five hundred Stand of Arms ordered to Providence is put on Board of a Sloop that is to sail the begining of next Week, the transportation of them will amount to 26 Dollars 80 cents, which is not more than one third so much as it would cost to transport them by land. I have weighted the fifty Barrels of Powder that is to be sent to Boston, I have had the Casks well hoopt and put in good order. the Waggons are to go of with them and the two Chests of Arms next monday morning. I will sent of the Stores that are ordered to Portland as soon as posible.
I have sent on the account of the expences of the implements for Eight Field Pieces that you ordered to be sent to New-york; the Accountant write me that he will not be paid unless I inform him what authority I [undecipherable: pay?] the account, I have no other than I have had before when I settled a number of accounts for the — [undecipherable] Department by giving due bill when I took the receipts as I have in this case, and I must get the articles wanting for the two Pieces you have ordered to Portland on credit; I shall be much obliged to you if you will please to speak to the Accountant about it and give me instruction how to conduct in future. the men want the Money very much.
