You will find this accompanied by [undecipherable] [undecipherable] Disbursements made under the authority of your Department. These several accounts you will find agreeably to the enclosed Schedule, the amount that thereby appears paid is three thousand eight hundred forty eight Dollars 37¾ cents which sum be pleased to place to my credit. But in addition I have advanced by order of the General for the recruiting Service ninety four dollars and Captain Lyman has made a Requisition for two hundred dollars more to be also applied in recruiting. Then you will see that a considerable balance will be due me, which you will be pleased to remit as soon as convenient among the Accounts now transmitted you will observe an account of Pay and Subsistence of Doctor Hugh Scott appointed by the Commander in Chief and paid by his special Warrant. But as the General is not present and the Doctor continues to claim pay and subsistence I have to request in-formation from you respecting it— NB. A Copy of the General Order under the authority of which the Doctor acts as Surgeon's Mate to the Garrison of Fort Fayette
