Pittsburg July 13 1798. I am this moment favored with your letter 9^th & 5^th ultimo. The Galley now on the Stocks will be ready to launch in four or six days and it is probable in two weeks more will be completed, but there is not at present a depth of water sufficient to descend the Ohio. At the time the Order for procuring materials for the Galley [re]ceived it was presumed by Gen. Wilkinson that at least one would be built therefore by his directions Timber for a third Galley is now either in the Ship Yard or contracted for.
