Sir As soon as convenient after the receipt of this letter be pleased to send two of the English eight inch Howitzers, with every thing belonging to them to New York, to the address of Colonel Stevens. I presume they are completely mounted, and furnished with implements — but if that is not the case send what you have, and the deficiency must be made up in York. I have again called the attention of the Accountant to the adjustment of your account and he is engaged in it. You will please to enclose me an order on him for whatever balance may be found due to you, this I shall receive and pass to your Credit in my Books, after which I will send you a statement of the whole business.
