Kentledge to be Transported to Philadelphia
Document 1798Hodgdon wants kentledge transported to Philadelphia as it comes to hand and at a rate not to exceed three dollars per ton.
45 Philadelphia 10th July 1798 Sir, I have this moment received your letter of the 9t inst. your conclusions relative to the Kentledge is just, I wish it to be sent to this place as it comes to and opportunities present I hope and expect you will be able to get it transported at a rate not exceeding three Dollars a ton–as we have no immediate call for it, you will have it in your power to control the price of the freight.
