I have received your note. You may without apology, write to your friend through me as you propose; the rumour relative to the removal of my Office is like many others circulated here, untrue. I have not been absent half a day from my Office, since yours was removed.
Be pleased to inform the Secretary of War, the Invoices, Inros, and Sheet Iron for Capt Arnes was sent to Atherton Smith Esqr of York, and by him received and sent to Hartford as usual long ago. I wrote to Mr Arnes and informed him when he might expect its arrival at Hartford and directed him to make provision for getting it from thence to Springfield.

I have received your note conveying an order from the Secretary of War for sundry Stores. I have countersigned the order & sent it to the Storekeeper who will deliver such parts of the order as are in the Store, Vizt Muskets & Bayonets, Grape Shot, & Musket Balls, 6 pound Balls we have none. You will send in some person to receive the Articles and give a receipt for them; they will apply at the Store on Stammetz's Wharf.
