Sir
You will receive from Nicholas Fish Esqr Supervisor New York the sum of seven hundred & forty one dollars &c being for pay & forage of the commissioned Officers the pay of the non commissioned Officers & Privates of the Garrison at West Point for the Month of May 1798, for the balance of Bounty due to Jeremiah Bright of Lieut. Dayton and for extra pay of Jacob Baker as artificer from the 18 January to the 4 June 1798, the time of his discharge as p the Remarks —
For which sum you will grant your receipts to be accountable due application thereof —
It appears that the name of Charlotte Holcomb as Ma of the Hospittal of the Garrison is added to the Muster Roll of Capt Ingersoll's Company in a different hand writing from that of the other part of the Muster Role and also included in the recapitulation in the same way, it would therefore be proper that a Certificate should be ob from the commanding Officer or Surgeon of the Garrison certifying that she has been usefully employed as Matron of the Hospittal attending the sick during the Month of May 1798 which certificate to be for to this Office to be filed with the Muster & Pay roles —
