Philadelphia 22 June 1798. Sir I have caused a survey to be made of the Public Buildings at Carlisle, the inclosed shews the result. The foundery and the Magazine spacious stone buildings imperfectly finished at first and now lying in ruins, little more than the Walls is of value. The stores and Barracks are of Brick and want little more than roofing, this should be attended to immediately or they will be ruined also. I would recommend a general survey of the buildings by professional men, and an estimate of the cost of repairs. You will please to say what is proper to be done — Richard Parker is the ^the able Public Store keeper, and is now in Town. Sir, Enclosed you have the Bill of lading & Invoice of sundries shipped to your address on board the Schooner Abor, Wm Daggit Master for the Ship Constellation. The Schooner sailed this day, yet I presume this will first get to hand. Please to inform me of their arrival and whether they agree with the invoice.
