Philadelphia 22 June 1798. Sir I have caused a survey to be made of the Public Buildings at Carlisle, the inclosed shews the result. The foundery and the Magazine spacious stone buildings imperfectly finished at first and now lying in ruins, little more than the Walls is of value. The stores and Barrecks are of Brick and want little more than roofing, this should be attended to immediately or they will be ruined also. I would recommend a general survey of the buildings by professional men, and an estimate of the cost of repairs. The Schooner sailed this day, yet I presume this will first get to hand. Please to inform me of their arrival and whether they agree with the invoice.
