Philadelphia 20 June 1798.
Sir
The business respecting the due Bills is now under consideration — I have waited for the return of those you have on hand, and for which you have received a Credit in the provision accounts, as they are to all intents and purposes vouchers, I wish them to be forwarded for deposit in my Office immediately.
I am Sir
Your most Obedient servant.
Samuel Hodgdon
Mr Edward Day
Philadelphia 20th June 1798.
Sir
On examining the Tents at the several deposits, I find the number of each kind is sufficient to meet any call that may be expected from the present establishment — But considering the probability of a much greater number of Men being suddenly summoned to take the field under the late Acts and regulations made by Congress, I think it will be prudent to procure Two hundred and fifty Common, and fifty horsemen Tents with Poles suited to each, and also two hundred and fifty Iron Camp kettles immediately —
