Agreement for House for Naval Department in Phila. — Endorsed by President Washington] It is agreed between Samuel Hodgdon in behalf of the Secretary of the Naval Department of the one part. And Charles J. Henley for himself on the other as follows — Viz^t The said Henley tents his House in Walnut Street lately occupied by Tench Coxe, to the United States for eight hundred Dollars per Annum to commence on the eighteenth of this (June) instant and to be paid Quarterly The premises to be put into complete repair by the said Henley as far as respects the Windows and Locks on all the Doors — And the United States covenants and agrees to redeliver the House at the expiration of their occupancy in the same order as received the natural waste and wear excepted — Done at Philadelphia this twentieth Day of June one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight — Charles J Henley Witness at Signing W^m Henley
