Pittsburg 13^th June 1798 Sir, I have received your letters of the 8^th instant together with the News-papers. [undecipherable: In/Per] ordering the Commissaries in which some articles ordered for [undecipherable: Lisle Eve] & others intitled for the Galley now on the Stocks were shipped on board the boats descending the Ohio with the General. It is there-fore necessary that these articles be replaced as early as possible. Viz 9 pieces Canvas No 4 10 Gallon Cans [undecipherable] bottles white lead [&] bail 80 fathom of 2½ inch Cordage, one bail 3 inch 120 Fathoms & two bails Spun Yarn the American Letters for Galley were also taken for the General's boat On the 12^th [inst.] it [is] necessary to draw on you at 8 days sight in favor of Robert M^cFarlane for 500 dollars and this day in favor of George Stevenson for 700 dollars and also in favor of David Wallace for 400 D, both at ten days sight which drafts be pleased to pay & charge as usual I am Sir, Your Most Ob^t Serv^t [signature] Samuel Hodgdone Esquire Philadelphia.
