Any claim that you may have for [undecipherable] Surgeon to the Pennsylvania Militia in 1794 must be presented to Mr Dallas, & as he has already advanced you money on account, he [undecipherable] the proper person to apply to for any balance that may be due you for your services in the capacity aforesaid provided the claim is just & authorized by law (the legality of which he is to be a judge of in the first instance) taking care to state an account Current with you charging the monies advanced & crediting the services perform[undecipherable] of this he had official information from this Office —
