[SHEPHERDSTOWN June 14^th] [Cts 30] [Col^o Samuel Hodgdon Philadelphia] Shepherds Town 14^th June 1798 Sir Enclosed is an account against the U. S. by Adam Bishop, for Repairs of one Hundred and Twenty Cartridge Boxes, and Making One Hundred and Nine Holster Caps. Charged agreeable to contract with Major Langham The Boxes and Caps were delivered me by Bishop, on inspection found them to be repaired, and made agreeable to bargain, payment was at same time demanded by M. Bishop, no reason occurred to oppose this demand. I accordingly paid the account When Maj^r Langham returns, which is daily expected, he will inform you if those Boxes are hart of the [undecipherable: returned?] Stores leaned to the State of Virginia, or others — I have not had a line from you, since yours to me of the Twelfth of May, — The tenth of June has arrived, and it is not yet known to me who is to succeed Maj^r Langham in the Care of the Stores here, by any positive appointment I feel some Anxiety on that account; Shall continue to transact the busyness here, untile the pleasure of the Hon^ble the Secretary of War, is known — Remain Sir, your Obed^t Serv^t Henry Bedigner Col^o Samuel Hodgdon
