You are hereby appointed Clerk of the Navy-Yard at Philadelphia; your pay to commence from the 28th Instant, at the rate of five hundred Dollars per annum. For that Compensation it is expected that you perform the duty of a Clerk to that Yard, agreeably to the Instructions which are now enclosed, and also such orders as may be from time to time given you by the Secretary of War for your Direction.
