Sir,
Enclosed you will receive a Certificate signed by the Register of the Treasury, by which it appears that Samuel Lewis has been credited on the books of the Treasury, for the sum of one hundred Dollars, for the purpose of being transferred to his debit on the books of your office, where the accounts shewing its application, are to be exhibited and adjusted.
You are therefore requested to cause such entries to be made in the books of your Office, as shall be best suited to the nature of the transaction, for debiting the said Samuel Lewis with the sum of one hundred Dollars as aforesaid.—
