I have received your letter dated the 1 Instt and conformable thereto, the sum of two thousand eight hundred Dollars will be remitted to you to cover the advances you have made & to enable you to compleat the payments to the Troops up to the 1st of the present Month — Mr Lewis in the War Office will remit the amount & you will in the usual course forward the proper Recipts —

Sir A Warrant for two hundred dollars, was this day issued to W.B. Grove by on account of your pay & subsistence in consequence of your letter of the 30 April last to the Secretary of War —
I have to request you will state your account current including your pay & subsistence from the time to which you was last paid up, to the time this reaches you or to the 30 last. Crediting the same with the above two hundred Dollars and with any other sums you may have received elsewhere & attest to the balance which if on examination of the same is found free from error will be paid to your order —
