I have also recieved a letter from M^r Samuel Lewis Jun^r with 200 Dollars for the Recruiting services. I enclose you a Muster Roll of the same date of a former one forwarded. I have mentioned in the column of remarks the situation of Ser^gt Jefferney, by which I hope the suspension of making him up for pay will be removed. I also inclose you my Vouchers accompanied by an Acc^t Current, by which it appears that after charging myself with the 200 Dollars last recieved, and paying every man his Bounty due, that I stand indebted to the U. States 159⁷⁵/₁₀₀ Dollars. I hope that you will find this to be a true statement. You will observe by the enclosed Acc^t that the first charge (to wit 484⁷⁵/₁₀₀ Dollars, for the Subsistence of Cap. Bruff) is not supported by a Voucher to explain this. I must inform you that the receipt roll was forwarded to the Accountants Office from Niagara by D^r Coffin last Autumn. I hope you have received it. I beg you to inform me. Some contingent expences have unavoidably accrued I have made them with the strictest oconomy.
