enclosing sundry slips of paper said to be receipts for mon[ey I]
were directed to disburse to sundry Militia & Scouts of W[oodford]
County — They are so imperfect that they can [not] be [passed]
here, You are therefore directed to obtain receipts from
individuals who served, or any person duly authorized by [a]
Power of Attorney properly attested, which must accom[pany]
the receipt to this Office, as well as proof that the sign[ature is]
the service — this is absolutely necessary before the amount [can]
be entered to your credit. I therefore trust you will lose [no time]
in complying with this request, as the money has been p[aid]
