Sir,
I wish you would immediately after the receipt of this letter send the 671 Pieces Kentledge lying at Mount Hope Furnace which were inspected and proved by Mr Smith to New York to the address of Melaneton Smith Esq. who will have my directions respecting them before they can arrive. The expence of transportation I shall request him to pay. 29 pieces Kentledge were rejected by Mr Smith; if they yet remain you may send them with the others. The whole will be wanted, and though a little faulty they must be taken. The business of the Shot at Elizabeth Town will be attended to Shortly. I have ordered the Kentledge from thence.

Philadelphia 21st May 1798.
Sir,
By a letter received from Captain Briant this morning I am informed the Ordnance and Military Stores inserted in the enclosed note are shipped at Hartford to your address, and agreeable to what I wrote you in my letter of the 19th instant. I herewith send you information relative to the destination of the whole, you will please to make the several Shipments accordingly.
Captain Shye will be written to and requested to attend to the reshipping of the Guns for the purpose of attending to a right disposition of the Carriages, a mistake in any will prove destructive to the whole as it is probable no two Pieces may suit the same Carriage all are numbered as you will perceive in the List enclosed.
I am Sir
Your most Obedt Servant
