Sir, As soon as possible after the receipt of this [strikethrough: Letter] you will please to send to this City the Horsemens Tents [strikethrough: and] less Blankets of the best common Suits you have on hand — direct the captain of the Vessel to land on our Wharf and [strikethrough: bring] the Tents to the door of the public Store — I am, Sir, Your most obedient Servant Samuel Hodgdon [left margin: Major Peter Hurst.] Philadelphia 17^th May 1798. Sir, I have determined since I conversed with you on the subject of [strikethrough: the] twelve pound Shot at your Furnace to remove them all to this City. I shall be obliged to you for having to affect on the best terms you can for their transportation and sending them in expeditiously as possible to this City. Let each Progressor bring an Invoice of the number and kinds of Shot in his Waggon and the Sum he is to receive for their transportation and I will pay them on the delivery of the loads.
