I received your letter of the 9 Instt & in reply have to observe that the differences & errors therein mentioned were occasioned by the incorrectness of the Clerk who had the examination of the Pay roll for he has discovered that you were right & himself wrong in both instances, they will be attended to when your next statement comes on.
On the 11 Instant the Treasurer of the United States remitted to Nicholas Fish, Esqr Supervisor at N[ew York] the sum of One Thousand four hundred and eighty six dollars and twenty six cents which with eighty one dollars & 80, remitted to him this day, he will pay to you on your giving him the necessary receipts holding yourself accountable, being for pay of yourself & detachment from 1 January to 30.th April — pay of Lieutt Hales Recruits for March & April 1[7—]
