Elizabeth Town, 10^th May 1798 Sir, Your favour of the 5^th inst, came to hand this morning, in which you mention the information which I have read in the Public Papers respecting the appropriation for the present year is incorrect, you say notwithstanding I may make out my account for Pay &c subject to the appropriation passing; I do not fully comprehend the last part of your letter, whether you meant to inclose me the money when the account was received, or whether the account was to lay in the Office untill the appropriation should be made for the present year, I will thank you to explain this last part.
