Boston] Sir, War Department, The President of the United States, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, having appointed you a Lieutenant of Marines on board the Constitution, You will be pleased to commence the recruiting the Complement of Marines allowed by Law to the said Ship to wit Three Sergeants Three Corporals one Drum, and Fife, and Fifty Privates.
