You will observe, if the enclosed abstract Marked A, that the last receipts transmitted by you will not completely cover the seventy eight dollars & [undecipherable]. which you have been requested to act for In order to place your account on the most equitable footing, possible I have admitted that those persons who have received their additional pay from the state agent have been paid by you for their arrearage or old pay. — James Searight & Thomas Doyle are not of this description, they being returned as absentees for their additional pay, and unless you can produce their receipts (the former 14 Dollars, and the latter 3 Dollars, making together 17 Dollars) they will also be entered on the Book of balances as [undecipherable] Your account current accompanies this with an Affidavit thereunto annexed, which on account of the irregularity of the vouchers you will be pleased to attest to as they are all subject to [undecipherable]
