Providing Stocks Fit for Use
Document 1798The deficiency in the return of the work done at the Springfield armory during April is due to the lack of stocks fit for use. Sir
Inclosed is a return of work done in the Shop at this Post in the Month of April — the deficiency is in consequence of having no Stocks fit to use — The stocks you mention in your favour of the 12 Ultimo are not come to hand nor as yet heard of — I hope the person who took the charge of them was enjoined to forward them without lofs of time.
The Chest of Armor I was directed to forward to Mrs Harris in your City, I expect has come to hand some time ago they were reshipped from Newyork the 7 Ultimo.
I am Sir
your most obedient and very
humble Servant
